Was kind of surprised at all the packaging when this 3-hole punch arrived, but eventually got it all unwrapped. Then had to figure out how to "open it up" to be able to punch holes in pages waiting to go into a 3-ring binder. There was a loud HARD crack and the punch opened up by itself when I handled it (have no idea how I even did that) and afterwards worked just fine. Punches cleanly a WHOLE LOT of pages!
