I’ve been teaching math for almost 40 years, so I have used a LOT of pencil sharpeners. This is absolutely the best! And you can even set how sharp you want the point, so it’s good for writing and even colored pencils.

This AFMAT Electric Pencil Sharpener is durable and well made. Sharpens quickly and easy enough for a small child to use. It is relatively quiet and a good size. I am not having to empty the shavings everyday.

This electric pencil sharpener has been really convenient for both regular pencils and colored pencils around the house. The automatic in-and-out feature works smoothly and makes sharpening feel quick and effortless without having to hold the pencil in place. I also liked having the different sharpness settings since it helped get either a fine point for writing or a softer tip for coloring without breaking the pencils. It sharpened evenly, handled larger pencils well, and the shavings container was easy to empty when full. This is a really nice electric pencil sharpener. It feels more substantial than the little cheap ones, and I like that it is fully automatic, so you just put the pencil in and it pulls it in/sharpens without having to fight with it.

In comparison to other sharpeners, this one is the best I had so far

I use it for my color pencils Polychromos and Prismacolor, watercolor pencils Derwent and it is fantastic for the pastels pencils !

I bought this as a gift for my teenage son, and he loves it. The only issue was that the band was far too large for his wrist. We couldn’t adjust it ourselves, and there were no clear instructions online for removing the links. We ultimately had to pay a jeweler to size it properly.

I was looking for an electric pencil sharpener to replace my old one that is getting worn out after years of use. My old one was the type where you push the pencil into the top and that activated the motor to sharpen it. You then had to have the right knack to know when to stop. This fully automatic sharpener is so much better! First of all, it is a lot faster. The old one would take about 5 to 8 seconds to sharpen a new pencil ( even longer if you had to take it out two or three times to check if the point was just right or not). This one sharpens it perfectly every time in just about two seconds. This may not seem like a significant difference but when my wife is sharpening a whole box of fifty new colored pencils, it can get pretty tedious. With this one you don't even have to put any pressure on the pencil- you just start it in and the pencil sharpener grabs it, pulls it in, perfectly sharpens it and then pushes it back out all in just a few seconds. You spend more time getting the next pencil ready than it takes to sharpen it. There is a dial on the sharpener that lets you select five different sharpness levels. You can choose very sharp for a graphite lead writing pencil, or you can choose a blunt tip if that's what you want for your colored pencils. Or you can choose three additional settings in between the two. It has suction cups on the bottom to keep it from sliding around on the surface that is sitting on. It also has a large receptacle where the shavings go so they don't make a mess. You can then empty this into the garbage can when it gets full. I can really only see one minor flaw with this sharpener. Because they needed the pencil to be supported evenly on both ends in order to get a perfect point, the space between these two support points is about three inches long so when the pencil has been used down to about the size of those little golf pencils, you can't really continue to sharpen it with this sharpener. I suppose at that point you will just need to use a regular sharpener if you want to continue using that particular pencil. (I didn't have any to try, but I suppose if you had a whole box of those little golf pencils that needed to be sharpened, maybe this wouldn't be the right thing?) But as I said, that is a very minor flaw in my mind- and, in every other way, this thing performs far past my expectations! I really love this sharpener and can highly recommend it.

I DON'T take into consideration prices or issues with shipping. I stick to a fair and honest evaluation of the product itself.
