Great product, solid material.. sometimes need to put pencil again.. each time make sure the nip length is the required one.. overall the kids are happy and sharpened there pencils and colored one.. happy

This is a truly professional pencil sharpener. i bought two different styles of these sharpeners.This one requires that you press gently on the end of the pencil for the sharpener to “activate” and sharpen the pencil. The other model has a sensor that grabs the pencil automatically, sharpens it and stops when done. Both are from the same company. Both are really well built and both run very well and leave a cleanly sharpened pencil.

Love this sharpener. I use it almost exclusively for my charcoal pencils. It does the best job at getting good points. Sometimes the lead will break off, but I get it close to a good point and then just finish it off slightly with a regular sharpener.

This is so much easier than using the old version pencil sharpener and alot less of a mess.

Sharpens to a fine point. I had an issue with the first unit I received (the top didn't lock into place for which sized point you want) and their support fixed the problem extremely quick. So impressed that we got 2 more and another art student also bought one based off of using mine in a class. Great product.

I have a manual sharpener and is does not sharpen evenly. This is much better.

I find this to be the best sharper ever for both graphite and colored pencils. Once you get the feel of it. It is very easy to use. I found it best to stop feeding the pencil in after a brief time. Then resetting the adjustment to its original setting to release the pencil. This setting may start to change when you stop sharpening. If you desire a little more point do it again. It is easy to get use to. This sharpener works so well for me that I ordered a second one for backup. I have used other Afmat sharpeners as well as many other brands. This review does not apply to the other models. This depends of course on how you want your pencil sharpened. This varies with different individuals. I have not tried it with charcoal pencils. The instructions state that it can be used with an 8B or harder pencils. Instructions also say not to sharpen caulk. It is suppose to be self clearing if a lead breaks. I have never broke a lead with this model. I have been using it for about 4 months so I do not know yet how durable it is. It runs on battery and is automatically recharged when it is plugged in. The battery appears to be easily replaceable. I have never had a reason to open it up. The manual that came with it states that a full charge is good for about 160 sharpenings.

I am glad this company knows how to manufacture a sharpener for artists. Love the extra long point it makes. Saves time instead of using an exacto knife for so long.

I took an art class once where the teacher could sharpen a charcoal pencil to a fine long point with a single edge razor blade. No matter how I tried I could not produce that same useful tool. This sharpener does it!!
No more struggling. Work on the art work, not on sharpening the pencils.

I grew up with a pencil sharpener on the wall near the blackboard at the front of the class and never knew that you could get different types of points until I bought one of these. I discovered Blackwing pencils a couple of years ago and found that this sharpener gives the absolute best long point there is. I highly recommend it.

This is the pencil sharpener I have been looking for my entire creative career. The ease of use and sharpness of point make this the go to sharpener I will use for now on. When your pencils are expensive you can not afford too many mistakes. This sharpener has given me a consistent point and wonderful long tapered shape.

The pencil sharpener is very efficient. The long lead holds its tip well and does not break. The rechargeable battery lasts a vey long time. It is very easy to disassemble the sharpener to clean it.
