I used to love the pencil sharpeners that I had in school. Hand crank and the actual sharpener was made out of metal. I found that pencil sharpener, but I really didn’t want to screw it down, the way that the sharpener from school was. So, I kept looking. I saw ones that had suction that never worked (according to comments) and then I found this.

Big enough to stay put when sharpening, metal sharpening element, hand crank, big storage tray for debris and able to use sharpen colored pencils. I love coloring. It also had many good reviews, so I bought it.

I have to sometimes put my one hand handing the top and the pencil, which is easier than it sounds, while cranking with the other hand. I got great results from this, with the tips of the pencils sharper and longer than they were, even when I first bought the pencils. I was amazed and pleasantly pleased. I would definitely recommend this sharpener for people who need a pencil sharpener. Definitely worth the money paid.

This works very very well makes a very nice long point or a regular point feeds really well you don't have to hold the pencil in the slot

Pencil sharpener works great for my graphite and colored pencils. Gives the pencil a long sharp point which leaves a nice side edge for covering large areas. Can adjust how sharp or dull you want the point to be.

This is my second one, the first still works fine after 4 years. Great sharpener for the price.

Well, when I bought this, I thought it was electric, as my original search was for "electric pencil sharpener for artists". But, since I also wanted a longpoint sharpener, I saw this and bought it without double checking. Glad I didn't check. This is a great sharpener! I like how the pencils feed in and out almost automatically, and the actual sharpening doesn't disappoint. Yes, I need two hands to use it, but this is no issue whatsoever. And - on thinking about it, NOT being electric is definitely what I needed anyway, as I can take it everywhere!

Must have. If you draw with graphite and want a point without sandpaper this is the sharpener for you. I have bought all kinds of sharpeners. Electric and manual. This is by far the best of the best. Would recommend and would buy again

This is THE most excellent sharpener. I'm an artist, I've been using it to sharpen pencils, it can get them as sharp as I need them. It is reliable, durable, fun to use. I recommend it highly, this is my main sharpening need! It is AMAZING how sharp it can get those pencils. I highly recommend it.
